MOONLUST
THE MUSIC
Moonlust is the indie dance / soul house duo I co-founded with producer, saxophonist, and baritone guitarist Jason (Aeon) Hunter. Together, we weave electric harp, driving guitar, deep synth textures, and layered harmonies into hypnotically moody, high-energy music that’s as danceable as it is emotionally resonant.
As music festival devotees, Aeon and I draw inspiration from artists like Forester, Monolink, and Parra for Cuva. Our sound blends beats that move the body with lyrics that stir the heart, brought to life through an immersive livetronica performance style that feels wild, cinematic, and alive both on stage and in the studio.
Our debut album, Pocket Universe, marked the beginning of this long spacewalk — enriched with collaborations from Ken Newman, Containher, Sonik Vilkas, and Jeff Straw of Steamy Windows. It quickly gained traction, streaming over 25k times in its first month on Spotify and earning praise from outlets like Spiritual Awakening Music (“brimming with awesome style; classic downtempo house with suave vocals”) and New Artist Discoveries (“engaging, energetic, full of inspiration”).
We launched Pocket Universe live beneath the trees and lights of Northern Nights Music Festival in July 2024. Most recently, with the support of Balanced Breakfast and StarCrash, we organized a benefit show at San Francisco’s DNA Lounge, raising $5,555 for the Alzheimer’s Association. That night was deeply personal for us, as our single Slip Silently is an ode to Aeon’s mother, who we lost to Alzheimer’s in 2023.
Moonlust is our outlet for channelling emotion and creativity into sound, community, and a shared legacy of recorded work. We are currently working on our sophomore album — as I create a full-length music video accompaniment to our upcoming single, Grieve, Release, set for debut October 2025.
